What is Salvation?
Salvation brings us into fellowship with God through Jesus Christ. Jesus said in John 3:3, "You must be born again."
Why give tithes and offerings?
Tithes and offerings support the work of the ministry. The people of God respond to His faithfulness by consistent and cheerful giving according to 2 Corinthians 9:7 and Malachi 3.
Why church membership?
Church membership provides accountability to one another and to be in obedience to the biblical pattern shown in the Book of Acts that displays the need to be attached and part of a local body of believers (Acts 2:47). Accountability means that you permit "iron to sharpen iron" in a healthy and Godly way. (Hebrews 10:25; Proverbs 27:17). Also, to support the God given Mission and Vision of the local congregation by giving of your tithes, offering, time, talents, spiritual gifts, along with your prayers and intercession (Malachi 3:6-12; 2 Corinthians 9:7; Luke 18:1; Ephesians 4:11; Romans 12:3-7; and 1 Corinthians 12:1-12, 28).
Am I free to sin even if I'm a Christian?
The answer is NO! A Christian does NOT have a license to sin. The Bible tells us that people perish because of a lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6-11). We are also commanded to cleanse ourselves of all filthiness of the flesh and spirit perfecting holiness in the fear of God (2 Corinthians 7:1). We should present our bodies as a living sacrifice to God (Romans 12:1); and remember that we are bought with a price by the blood of Christ and must glorify Him in our bodies and in our spirit which are His (1 Corinthians 6:20). If we are Christian, our lives should reflect Christ likeness. We may make mistakes, but we should be striving to live lives pleasing to God at all times. The life we lived before must die and now we must live differently (2 Corinthians 5;17; Romans 12:2).
