Live from The House!

May 24, 2026    Bishop Calvin M. Hooper

In this Pentecost message from Acts 2:1–21, “When the Spirit Came” shows how God fulfilled His promise by pouring out the Holy Spirit upon His people. The sermon explains that Pentecost was not merely a powerful moment in church history, but the beginning of a Spirit-empowered movement that continues today. Through the signs of wind, fire, and languages, God empowered ordinary believers to become bold witnesses for Jesus Christ.

This message highlights three major truths: the power of the Spirit, the proclamation to the nations, and the promise of salvation. It reminds believers that the church cannot fulfill God’s mission through talent, tradition, organization, or human strength alone. We need the power of the Holy Spirit to live courageously, speak clearly, serve faithfully, and proclaim the mighty works of God.

Ultimately, this sermon calls both believers and unbelievers to respond: believers are challenged to live as Spirit-filled witnesses, and those who need salvation are invited to call upon the name of the Lord, because Scripture promises that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
