Standing on the Solid Rock
Reading: Luke 6:46-49
Devotional: Jesus' parable of the two builders offers a powerful metaphor for our spiritual lives. The wise builder who digs deep and lays a foundation on rock represents those who not only hear God's Word but also put it into practice. In contrast, the foolish builder represents those who hear but fail to act.
Reflect on the foundation of your life. Are you merely hearing God's Word, or are you actively applying it? Consider areas where you might be building on "sinking sand" - perhaps relying on worldly wisdom or your own understanding instead of God's truth. What steps can you take to dig deeper and anchor your life more firmly in Christ, the solid rock?
Remember, trials and challenges will come to everyone, like the flood in the parable. But those who have built their lives on the foundation of God's Word will stand firm. Today, commit to not just being a hearer of the Word, but a doer as well.
