Pride's Blinding Power
Reading: Daniel 4:28-33; James 4:6-10
Devotional: "Is not this great Babylon that I have built?" Nebuchadnezzar's words revealed a heart that had forgotten God's sovereignty. He credited himself for blessings that came from heaven. Pride blinds us to reality—it makes us believe we're self-made, self-sufficient, and self-sustaining. The truth is, every breath, every talent, every opportunity comes from God's hand. While Nebuchadnezzar boasted, judgment fell immediately. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.
The pathway to breakthrough isn't found in self-promotion but in self-surrender. When we acknowledge God as the source of all we have and are, we position ourselves for His continued blessing. What are you taking credit for that belongs to God?
